last day in Malaysia

My last day in Malaysia I went shopping for souvenirs in Kuala Lumpur. I was very lucky that it was the Independence Day of Malaysia (31st of August).

My backpack was bigger than me... Generally my luggage was much heavier than allowed, had to ask for mercy to take my books back to Europe without paying 1000MYR fee. Thank you Malaysia for great 2 months!! :D

Raya at KLCC

Hari Raya starts with few intensive days of celebration just after Ramadan.
However, visiting friends and open house events take up to a month.
During that time cafes and malls will be decorated with green Lanterns - embellishments in a shape of Ketupat (rise in a young coconut leaves) and if you lucky you can come across some life traditional music performances.

There is ongoing project in Kuala Lumpur to have everywhere a skywalk. Here is one that connects hotels near  KLCC with Pavilion at Bukit Bintang.

Impiana hotel where I enjoyed my Hari Raya weekend.

I love city landscapes like that.

Malay house in a mall.

Life music - I have enjoyed it a lot!

I was sipping on my tea at KLCC Starbucks and admiring this city landscape...
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Petronas Towers

I am not the most ambitious sightseer.
If I visit a city only for one day I try to experience one thing and take my time to enjoy it.
I wander around to get impression of architecture, people and vibe of the place.

I have decided that my must see is Petronas Towers at KLCC, since I study at Petronas University.

I was lucky to meet new friends, and one of them occurred to be very patient photographer.

I finished my trip to KL by doing some shopping and having dinner at Pavilion in Bukit Bintang.
